Fishing Report 3/21/09

The weather started off very cold with some wind and cold temps. The slush wasn't as bad as the week before, but it still puts a damper on the morning fishing. I made one cast and hooked up(this is how fishing is Should be) a nice chrome hen on a peach hairball. After that it was Jeff who put on a clinic for the next couple of hours. The sun moved in a slow arc and warmed us and the fish slowly, fishing pressure was pretty light for being such a nice day. I found fish in every nook and cranny that i looked, having fun trying to get them to take my streamers. I also tried trout beads for shits and giggles and was surprised on how effective they are in clear water.

Fishing Report 3-7-09

The water was dirty and the fishing slow with only four landed for me and tom with a nice buck, but it was a good day to use the Spring Creek Special.

The Beast

I went out to fish for some steelhead today with Evil Phil and Paul. The day started out very cold, but the water was in great shape. I started out with my white sculpin and never changed, Paul and I caught and released over a dozen fish with one monster that Paul caught tickling 30”. It was a great day made even better by my Simms Extreme Boot foot waders; these are by far the warmest waders I have ever worn period!
