Wny Fly Fishing Report 9/29/09

The Catt is blown out and the smaller tribs too, we may be able to fish this weekend if we don't get too much rain in the next few days.

Wny Fly Fishing Report 9/28/09

Well the rains have finally come and given us a good soaking, the catt has spiked up and is dirty, but falling for now. The smaller creeks have not shot up much and have some color also, we will have to see how much rain we get in the next few days.

Wny Fly Fishing Report 9/26/09

The sunrise on the catt this morning was nothing short of spectacular!!!!

I found alot of fisherman working every inch of water, with few hook-ups. I swung streamers through every pool and run i found with little takers just a tap or two. I switched over to a peach Hairball's and had fish on right away, three chrome adults that went crazy and snapped me off oh well that's fishing.

Wny Fly Fishing Report 9/23/09

Warm weather and no rain has put the brakes on for steelhead coming into the creeks. We need cooler temps and a good soaking to get everything moving in the right direction.

Wny Fly Fishing Report 9/16/09

It's time to start looking for steelhead, so here we go. The catt is fishable with some fish in the system but not in any big numbers. The smaller creeks are not ready at all and are to warm, so please stay away from them. Try using streamer patterns, swinging them down and across them slowly lifting at the bottom of the drift.

I went out for the last time for inland trout, going to my fav river in the world the Genny. The fishing was nothing short of fantastic!!!!!! Big Bows and Browns taking BWO's, caddis, and paraleps and of course the spring creek special. The weather was not an issue as cooler temps and drizzle kept everything coming up all day.

Getting Ready For Steelhead

I have finished my streamer boxes for the fall and thought i would share them

Wny Fly Fishing Report 9/06/09

I went inland to the upper catt and found the water very clear to dirty depending on where you went. I caught fish on spring creek specials and nothing else, browns and bows were a little off but i had fun anyways.
