WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 1/27/2012

The rain has screwed up the water for the weekend, all of the erie tribs i went over today were high and muddy. The smallest might be ready by sunday, but this should bring in more fish.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 1/21/2012

I went out with Andy, Luke and Adam to fish the oak today. The trip started out with my wipers on the mini van deciding to operate in a independent fashion looking like a seal clapping instead of wiping off the snow and slush, Andy was comic relief today as he went  for a swim in the Archers pool.  The water was dirty and flowing very well, Adam was the first to hook up and then I got a steelhead later in the morning.

I went all over the erie tribs today and found that the smallest were ready to go and the bigger ones still needed a day or two, except the catt which is out for awhile.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 1/7/2012

I went out with Luke and met John down at a L.O. stream to do some much needed soul cleansing, the weather started out as nothing short of fantastic for this time of year and turned RAW as the day went on, but we did manage a few fish a piece. I caught more fish swinging than drifting eggs, Luke and John did the opposite so go figure on a pattern. I am enjoying fishing with tubes this year much more than in past years, I don't know why but what the hell just go with it.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 1/1/2012

We went out Sat to fish the L.O. tribs with high hopes of getting into some fish. The water was high and dirty, but that didn't bother us. I caught two browns swinging some new water that Luke has showed me on a new tube fly I made up the night before. Luke got a nice brown later in the day swinging a chart tube he made.
