WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 6/29/2014

Tom and I went to the Oatka today for some dry action, the water was still stained and up a bit. The fishing was very good and the scenery even better!!!! we had lots of deer crossing the creek everywhere went. The fish were taking small caddis and ants and the action slowed down around 10 am.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 6/21/2014

I went back to the Genny this past weekend for some dry fly action and once again she didn't let me down. I got fish ranging from 4" to 17" and lost a true monster on the dry, one well over 22" that crushed my fly then after three head shakes broke off everything. I did well on beetles sizes 12-14 and small black caddis size 16-18.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 6/15/2014

Tom, Jeff and myself went to the Genny for Fathers Day, and once again she didn't let us down. Jeff and myself both got the trout grand slam with a brook, brown, and rainbow trout. The water was up and off colored just a bit , but that didn't matter as all of the fish we got took the spring creek special on the swing with a small strip now and then. The bugs coming off were Sulphurs, grey fox, caddis, and midges.

The Genny had good numbers of bugs tonight, March Browns, Gray Fox, Large Sulphurs, Cahills. also, White Miller Caddis. I fished with Phil for awhile, then I had to leave do to a work injury to my wrist, I couldn't cast anymore. I was glad to see Evil Phil and fish with him again,  I see he did very well later that day.
