WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 5/25/2014

We went to the Genny for some much needed inland soul cleansing and to introduce a old friend to some great water. The flows were a little high for this time of year but, do to all the rain we have had it was going to work anyways. The water temps were on the chilly side in the morning and slowly warmed up as the sun came up, we got fish on spring creek specials for most of the day, Griffiths Gnats, and March Browns. The fish ranged is size from turds to a very nice 16" and were a mixture of rainbow trout and brown trout.

WNY Fly Fishing - SA Sharkwave fly line Review & Stream Report 5/11/2014

I just got my sharkwave fly line I ordered in and put them to the test this weekend. The line is a WF 3F on my Sage ESN 3WT, the line is a half size heavy for faster rods, it loads the rod well and shoots through the guides like greased lighting. The line maintains tight loops and drops dries down without much effort.

The streams were in very good shape and the fishing was great as always on my fav trout stream, we caught fish on spring creek specials, P.T.'s and henny dries as well as caddis.

The Catt is coming down and looking very good before we get more rain, I would be throwing streamers, as the bass as moving in as well. The trout streams are all in good to great shape as we speak, the Henny's should be coming off more regularly no that's warming up.
