Wny Fly Fishing Report 8/17/09

The hot weather has finally come and some thought should go to our cold water friends, please be careful about the stream temps and stressing the fish. Any water temps in the high 60's should be avoided. Fish early if you must and get out before the water starts to get too warm.

  1. Thats the one bonus to the mild summer temps and rain we have been getting...the stream temps for this time of year are alot lower then they usually are! was out to my favorite stream last friday and water temp was only 62! for August on that creek thats way low!

  3. Ya..that and I hope the rain continues through the fall. I love to fish the small tribs of Ontario. The ones that everyone else pass by to go to the major rivers and creeks! Lots of rain and those small tribs get some really nice runs of browns and bows! I cant wait to get some 10 pounders on my 5 wt loomis on flys!
