Wny Fly Fishing Report 6/28/09

I went to my cabin to do some much need repairs and to do a little fishing on the side. The weather didn't help with 1.5" of rain falling in about one hour, talk about a drenching. Flash floods and washed out ditches with overflowing culverts was the norm for most of the weekend, but i did mange to catch a few trout on some smaller streams nearby. A few critters and some nice scenery made an lousy day seem a little better.

Wny Fly Fishing Report 6/23/09

Some of the streams are up and fishable, but the Genny. The fishing will be better in the early morning and late evenings. Try small caddis and golden stones throughout out the day and we should have cahills coming very soon.

Wny Fly Fishing Report 6/20/09

Rain is going to hamper all, but one or two streams in the area. I would go to spring creek and throw streamers during the rain.

I went out with Paul and Jeff to do some inland this weekend. The fishing was very good with all of the fish caught and released. The fly of the day was the spring creek special aka olive bugger. Brown's and brookies were plentiful and fun on my Sage Z-Axis 3wt.
