WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 2/26/2014

I have good news and bad news, the streams are open for the most part on the upper sections, but getting down to the water is going to be very hard on most of them. The Catt has water that is easy to get to and the Rez will be open to fish march 1. The bad news is that the freaking cold is back and will screw up or best laid plans, I would try the L.O. tribs as the water is bigger and warmer, so finding a place to fish should be a lot easier.

WNY Fly Fishing - Stone Flies

I have been at the bench for some time now (nothing else to do) filling up boxes and customers orders, so I just whipped up these little guys up for the spring, if it ever gets here.

WNY Fly Fishing - Featured Fly The Usual by Fran Betters

One of my favorite dry patterns is the Usual by Fran Betters, this fly can do it all, it rides high, is very durable, and can be tied in just about any thing imaginable, and is almost unsinkable.

WNY Fly Fishing - Thoughts of this winter

I don't know about you guys, but I have had enough of this winter and lack of fishing time has made most of us bored out of our minds. I have been tying up a storm in the basement waiting to go out and enjoy quite time (those of us with kids and wives know what I mean) outdoors with the fishing buddies.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 2/4/2014

I am sorry about not posting much lately, but the conditions really haven't changed a lot. The Erie tribs are hit and miss depending on the thaw rate on them. The L.O. tribs are fishing ok, but again they are hit or miss depending on weather, which we all agree this year sucks coconuts!!!!!
