WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 12/23/2012

I headed south with Brian and his son Adam to do some steelhead fishing, the weather was cold and the water perfect!!!! The fishing was off the charts for this time of the year with over a dozen steelhead hooked between us. The fly of the day for me was a cheese colored Hairball, the fish fought very hard despite the cold water temps.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 12/21/2012

I went over most of the streams today and here we go the catt is shot, most of the erie tribs were up with some color and clearing. The fishing should be good in the smaller ones with the bigger ones getting some fish in.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 12/16/2012

Jeff and I hit the southern tier for some much needed trib fishing, the creeks are in good shape, but falling water and clearing conditions are starting to make it tough. I caught all of my fish on White Lighting swinging and dead drifting through the runs and pools. The steelhead were bright chrome to semi colored and the brown is what a brown should look like.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 12/15/2012

The smaller erie tribs have been fishing very well as of this week and with more rain coming they should fish good for awhile until the freeze sets in, the flies of choice have been my Hairball, sucker spawn and white lighting.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 12/3/2012

After traveling over most of the erie tribs today, I can say that most of the streams are stained and up alittle with the catt being the worst.
