WNY Fly Fishing Trout Camps

Trout Camps are in the spring for inland trout. The classes are six hours and cover casting, fly selection, and reading the water. We provide lunch, guides, flies/leaders/tippet, rods and reels if needed, you must bring waders and wading boots, sunglasses. This is the best way to start out fly fishing and learn from some of the best instructors in WNY.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 9/9/2025

Low water everywhere is killing the fishery and with the Indians shutting down most of the rez its going to push everyone on the smaller tribs and until they get water good luck, maybe inland once the rains come will be better

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 6/6/2025

The fishing continues to be outstanding with lots of water and bugs to keep the fish very happy as well as the fishermen. I had a very good friend come up from PA to fish with me and we had a ball until the rains washed us out but still lots of fish caught and a lot of laughs, we got them on just about everything the usual suspects buggers, nymphs swung and stripped

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 5/19/2025

the rain keeps coming and we are getting more this week again, when will this stop? dont get me wrong we need the rain but not all at once. It would be nice to spread it out over the summer to give the fish a break from the heat and the plant life as well

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 4/24/2025

Most of the inland streams are in very good shape, henny's are coming off and the fish are focused on them. On a side note the Wellsville trout derby is this weekend so stay away from that watershed and arcade trout derby is May 3-4 so stay away from the zoo that follows them

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 3/8/2025

The streams are for the most part opened up, some of the lower sections might have ice jams at the mouths so  be careful on where you go. next week the temps are going to be very good and the bigger creeks/rivers should be in fine shape

WNY Fly Fishing - Alaska Patterns I Use

These are the flies i used in Alaska last year and will be this coming august. Tying on jigs is a big advantage when fishing in the huge rivers and heavy currents. The guides loved them because they sank fast swam easily and you can fish them in so many diff ways, i made my own style of polywogs in pink and more natural mouse colors. ill be sending them up with the guides months before we get there for a good work out and ill get feedback to tweak them if i need to for the trip
