WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 10/19/2023
I took Dave down to the rez to show him the water for his first outing there, the weather was perfect and the water had just a little color to it. the amount of guys out on a weekday was crazy!!!!! but with very nice weather comes the crowds. all we did was swing buggers in assorted colors but as always olive was the ticket with just a hint of copper flash. I ran into Brian very old friend on the water and got him catching a fish swinging a small minnow pattern.

The rains are here and helping out the fish, but we are still in a drought pattern. i found dead trout in a secluded spot which means the fish are getting stressed, so please go after the warm water guys now and leave the trout alone for awhile. Now caddis are the main hatch i have been seeing along with sulphers and brown drakes, so if you go out go out very early and stop around 10 and forget the late afternoons unless you have shaded spots for most of the day

Jeff went today and here is the report, he went to the forks at 18 mile in hamburg. He said the water was in good shape and nice flow, went fished to the falls and back with not a fish nor did anyone else. A guy he ran into said basswood was fishing very well this morning with lots of fish hooked and landed

WNY Fly Fishing - Trout Streams of PA
These streams are easy access and have a lot of fish in them for all styles of fly fishing from stocked to natural reproduction. Just toggle the boxes for what type of fishing you prefer and it will tell you where to go, I wish NY had stuff like this, PA is why ahead of this state.
