WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 10/29/2016

Jeff, Ron and myself went out to 18 mile creek today, the morning started out very slow, the water was just about PERFECT, nice flows with just a hint of color. The mid afternoon was much better, all of the fish took  olive streamers moved very slowly along the bottom.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 10/27/2016

The rains have come in and dumped on us again, the Catt and Erie tribs are on the rise and may be shot for the weekend,  the smallest ones might be ready by sat or sun. The other option would be to go north on the LO tribs, the reports have been very good for salmon and big browns.

WNY FlytFishing Stream Report 10/24/2016

The creeks have dropped back to low and clear conditions, except the Catt which is still over a 1000 cfs. It was short and sweet with higher water levels, the Catt will come down in a couple of days with no rain.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 10/12/2016

Once again not alot to report other than we have little to no water in the streams and the Catt is the only place to fish, so find a hole, get on it in the very very early am, and bang away for the morning.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 10/7/2016

We went to the only place to fish the kitty Catt, the water was cool and the water stained and low. The fishing was slow and painful, the fish were not very active today, we did manage to hook a few but nothing landed, all were hitting on white and olive streamers. #Sharkwave, #SA

My first time out after my surgery, I went out with Drew and had a great time!!!!! We both got steelhead on diff methods, Drew was using a small wet fly with a egg, while I was swinging streamers. I got fish on black zuddlers and white ones just dead drifting them along the seams. The water was up a little and stained about 18" of viz.

WNY Fly Fishing Stream Report 10/2/2016

The Catt is the only game in town and the numbers of guys out on the water prove it, the fishing has been good with jacks and some adults mixed in. the weather has been very good with much needed rain falling, just enough to color the water and raise it slightly, you will have to move and find deeper water to find fish.
